Following the introduction of the RM 002, RM 003 was unveiled, equipped with a brand-new second-time zone function. This innovation featured a sapphire crystal disc and a white section at 3 o'clock; when the black hours on the disc were positioned over the white section, they appeared to ‘light up.’
The same inventive concept was applied to several other Richard Mille timepieces, including the date windows of RM 005, 010, 016, and 023. By pressing the pusher at 9 o'clock, users were able to comfortably switch the desired time zone. As a result, the case increased in thickness from 11.95 mm on RM 002 to 13.65 mm with this new function.
