Our Authentication Process
Our Authentication Process
Every watch sold by Watches Established is guaranteed 100% authentic. We take authentication seriously — our reputation depends on it.
Multi-Point Inspection
Before any watch is listed for sale, it undergoes a comprehensive inspection by experienced horologists. Our process includes:
- Exterior inspection — Case, bezel, crystal, crown, bracelet/strap examined for originality and condition
- Dial verification — Printing quality, lume plots, markers, and hands checked against reference specifications
- Movement authentication — Caseback opened and movement inspected for correct caliber, finishing, and serial numbers
- Serial number verification — Cross-referenced against manufacturer records and known databases
- Documentation review — Box, papers, warranty cards, and service records verified when present
- Functional testing — Timekeeping accuracy, water resistance, date change, chronograph function, and all complications tested
Our Guarantee
We stand behind every watch we sell with a written authenticity guarantee. If a watch purchased from Watches Established is ever determined to be anything other than 100% genuine, we will provide a full refund — no questions asked, no time limit.
Why This Matters
The pre-owned luxury watch market includes sophisticated counterfeits that can fool even experienced collectors. Our multi-point inspection process, combined with years of hands-on experience with Rolex, Audemars Piguet, Patek Philippe, and Richard Mille, ensures that every piece we sell is the real thing.
