The RM 35-02, inspired by the RM 35-01, was created in response to a customer request for a self-winding mechanism at the heart of a Nadal calibre. Richard Mille chose its patented variable geometry rotor, which allows the winding to be adjusted to the user's activity level. By adjusting the six positional settings of the rib's placement, the titanium rotor's inertia is modified, either speeding up the winding process in the case of minimal arm and hand movements or slowing it down in the case of intense activity (like when Rafael Nadal is playing a match).
